The Tracy Aviary

Located within Liberty Park, The Tracy Aviary provides a wonderful educational experience for Salt Lake City preschoolers and their families. The aviary is a peaceful way to spend your day, walking along the wooded paths and listening to the sounds of a huge variety of singing birds. Preschoolers will love feeding the ducks and learning more about the birds by attending the free bird shows.

Experience the Aviary

The Tracy Aviary is very accessible for preschoolers. Parking is nearby and the overall walking distance is within a preschoolers abilities. Restrooms are located in the center of the aviary for easy access.

All of the exhibits are very visible from a preschooler’s viewpoint. Preschoolers can get very close to the birds and can even walk through one of the bird habitats to get a full view. Seating for the bird show is relatively close to the stage. After the show is over preschoolers have the chance to see the birds up close as they walk past the trainers.

Bird Day Parties

The Tracy Aviary offers Bird Day parties to celebrate your preschooler’s special birthday. For more information, or to book a birthday party visit their website.

Bird Shows

Four bird shows are available free with admission and rotate on a weekly schedule. Come back with your preschooler each week to learn something different. The four bird show themes are:

Mice on the Menu – Cats aren’t the only predators with an eye for mice

The Clean-up Crew – Learn about the importance of scavengers in the environment

Amazing Nighttime Predators – Find out who lurks in the night while you sleep

Colorful Birds of the Tropics – Discover the adaptations that make life for a bird in the tropics

Adopt a Bird

The Tracy Aviary’s bird adoption program allows you to make the aviary part of your family. Your preschooler can adopt a bird of their choice (ranging from $50-$1000). When you adopt a bird you receive information on the bird of your choice and help support their care for the year.
