The Living Planet Aquarium
The Living Planet Aquarium is conveniently located just off 106th S. in Sandy. Their new expanded preview exhibit is much larger than the gateway location and features many new features that preschoolers will love. Preschoolers will participate in hands on learning and enjoy seeing native Utah marine species and salt water fish.
Throughout the aquarium there is a wealth of educational materials that help preschoolers to understand about water conservation, native Utah aquatic species, endangered species, and salt water environments. Preschoolers will enjoy playing educational games on the aquarium computer, pretending to drive a life-sized boat, and watching educational videos about marine life.
The Coral Community is a wonderland of underwater life and a wonderful play area for preschoolers. It features several smaller fish tanks that are build into the play area and allow preschoolers to look at fish up close as they play. Coral caves provide preschoolers with a real look at an ocean environment and allow them to participate in some active play. Preschoolers can find a variety of aquatic themed games and puzzles inside The Sunken Ship right next to the play area.
Restrooms are conveniently located just outside of the exhibits. They are extremely clean and feature preschool sized sinks.
A special Halloween party will take place sometime in October and will make a visit to the aquarium an extra-spooky event.
