Solitude Ski Resort for Preschoolers

Solitude Ski Resort is a beautiful resort that is away from most of the crowds that fill some of the other ski resorts in the area. Solitude used to be primarily a resort for locals, but people from all over are quickly discovering the charm of Solitudes European Village and the peace and quiet of this beautiful ski resort.

Solitude Ski Resort Events for Preschoolers

Kids Mini Downhill Dash - February 10, 2007

Children ages 4-14 are invited to compete in this annual race. Preschoolers can pre-register through Solitudes Snowsports Academy or register the day of the race on the first level of the new Moonbeam Lodge Ticket Office from 9-10 a.m. The race starts at 11:00 a.m.! Don't miss the fun.

Solitudes Family Friendly Weekend dash - February 16-19, 2007

Stay at the Village at Solitude for a weekend of family friendly fun. Your preschooler will enjoy avalanche dog demonstrations, alp horn players, ice-skating in the village, activities at Last Chance Mining Camp, and walk-up tubing on Main Street run. A buffet will be served with evening performances.

Solitude Moonbeam Kid's Program

Private ski lessons are offered for preschoolers ages 2 to 4. Snowboarding lessons are available for ages 4 to 7. A one long private lesson is $65 and does not include the cost of a lift ticket. A full day program including a group lesson, lunch, and a lift ticket runs $90.

Babysitting Services at Solitude Ski Resort

Babysitting is offered for children ages 4 years and younger. Preschoolers that do not want to participate in skiing or snowboarding can enjoy coloring, storytelling, snowplay, cartoons, naps, and lunch while their parents enjoy a day on the slopes. The daycare is located in a secure room in the newly renovated Snow Sports Academy building. Parents utilizing the daycare must carry a personal cell-phone while their children are in care. 24 hour notice is recommended. The cost of a full day is $75 or the hourly rate is $15 per child.

Ice-Skating at Solitude Ski Resort

An Ice-Skating rink is located in the European Village and is open from 3:00 dash; 8:00 p.m. weather permitting. Preschoolers can warm up near the fires located near by or purchase a smores kit available at Stone Haus to make over the fire.
