Build a Bear Workshop for Salt Lake City Preschoolers

Build a Bear Workshop is a nationwide chain with three locations in Salt Lake City. Preschoolers are easily drawn to the exciting atmosphere inside the store and enjoy the way Build a Bear allows them to use their imagination as they create their own furry friend.

What is Build a Bear

Build a Bear Workshop states that their mission is to “bring the Teddy Bear to life”. Preschoolers will be mesmerized by the process that they go through to create their own teddy bear. The store is divided into different stations that take you through the process of building a bear (or other furry friend) from start to finish.

At the Choose Me station your preschooler picks which stuffed animal they want to create. The Hear Me station gives your preschooler the option of adding sound to their stuffed animal. The Stuff Me Station lets your preschooler participate in the stuffing process that will bring their stuffed animal to life. The Stitch Me Station finishes off your preschoolers stuffed animal with a pre-laced system. The Fluff Me Station allows your preschooler to give their new stuffed animal a “bath” and brush their fur so they will looking their best when they go to their new home. The Name Me station lets your preschooler give their stuffed animal a name and registered the microchip system that is similar to the one vets use to find lost pets. The Dress Me stations lets your preschooler create a unique personality and style for their stuffed animal by choosing clothing and accessories. The Take Me Home station gives your preschooler a carrying case to use for their new friend.

Build a Bear for Salt Lake City Preschoolers

Many parents are turned off of Build a Bear because of the high cost that could potentially be involved, but Build a Bear stuffed animals start at only $10. Preschoolers enjoy the process that is involved in making their stuffed animals nearly as much as the toys themselves. Talk with your preschooler before visiting Build a Bear to establish a budget for what they are allowed to spend. Preschoolers are still learning about how money works. Having a real life example helps them to see what money is worth and how it is used.

Build a Bear stores are fairly small but they can get hectic during busy times. Visit Build a Bear on a weekday morning so that your preschooler will not become frustrated with the crowds and having to wait in long lines at each station.
